Manchester's DinoFalls minigolf attraction reports rapid growth

News | 18 May '18

Manchester’s most eye-catching new leisure attraction, DinoFalls Adventure Golf, is fast becoming one of the most successful mini-golf courses in the country.

In six short months, the 18-hole dinosaur adventure golf course has seen more than 55,000 rounds played, proving a huge hit with TraffordCity’s thriving leisure market.

Now the largest mini-golf course of its kind out of London, DinoFalls, located at Trafford Golf Centre, sees more than 1,000 people on the course on its busiest days.

Pete Styles, Director of Golf, at Trafford Golf Centre and DinoFalls Adventure Golf, said: “We’ve seen remarkable growth since the launch of DinoFalls in November. The concept has really taken off and become a must-do activity among Manchester’s leisure scene.

“There’s a huge appetite for fun, affordable leisure activities for all ages in Manchester, and DinoFalls ticks all the boxes. We’re open day and night and there’s a casual feel to it as we operate a no booking policy so it’s perfect for families, groups of friends and date nights who can just turn up and play.

“We’ve grown our team to cater for the rapid growth in demand and our extended opening hours (7am to 10.30pm) mean we can cater for large numbers without the course becoming crowded. There’s always a great atmosphere at any time of day, and nighttime on the course is pretty spectacular. It’s also very instagrammable and social media has played a significant role in our marketing.”

Gigantic moving (and roaring!) dinosaurs, including a Tyrannosaurus Rex, feature around the course, which is set around a winding river and huge cascading waterfall. The site also features a ‘Selfie-osaurus’ for capturing memorable moments.

DinoFalls complements the existing Trafford Golf Centre offering by expanding into the casual leisure and dining market, as well as incorporating the educational market. Pete estimates that DinoFalls has already introduced more than 20,000 children and young people to the game of golf, with over 100 school groups, scouts and girl guides and youth clubs benefitting from the educational programme.

Pete said: “We created the DinoFalls concept after seeing the growth of similar courses in the US and London and included the educational element to make it relevant for teachers and school groups.  Not only are we offering an opportunity to learn about dinosaurs and the prehistoric period, we’re also introducing young people to the game of golf, and positively increasing the game’s accessibility for all.”

DinoFalls offers educational activity books and work spaces for school classes or parties, along with fact-finding around the site, to fit with the school curriculum.

The golf venue, located next to the M60, also offers a ‘We proudly serve Starbucks Café and Bar’, 53 bay golf range, nine PGA professionals teaching from the Academy and the largest American Golf retail store in the North.
