Metrolink Trafford Park line

An extension to the existing light rail metrolink which runs directly through the City Centre into Greater Manchester into TraffordCity via Trafford Park was completed in March 2020.

This £350 million extension into the heart of TraffordCity links visitors and commuters up to many tourism major venues in Greater Manchester including MediaCityUK, The Imperial War Museum North, The Lowry, Manchester United, Lancashire County Cricket Club, Manchester Waters and the City Centre.

City Gateway

City Gateway is an important strategic investment corridor which runs from the west of Manchester along the A57 connecting the Port of Salford, AJ Bell Stadium, City Airport and Heliport, Trafford Waters, TraffordCity and with the enhanced Trafford Park Metrolink tram line, connects, MediaCityUK and Manchester Waters, into the heart of the city centre.

These projects are not only strengthening the TraffordCity proposition but are supercharging the North West economy through the creation of enhanced transport links, employment opportunities and places to live.

Port Salford

Port Salford will be the UK’s first tri-modal inland port which will be served by ship, rail and road. This ground breaking development will include an inland
