Discover RHS Garden Bridgewater

RHS Bridgewater is a 154-acre garden in Salford is located just under 6 miles from TraffordCity and easily accessible via the Bridgewater Way canalside path. It's the biggest hands-on horticultural project undertaken in Europe since planning permission was granted in 2017. Visitors will be able to access world-class horticultural inspiration and expertise at the first-ever RHS Garden to be located in an urban area.

The garden was created in partnership with the Peel Group and Salford City Council and is the result of years of hard work by a dream team of designers, gardeners, contractors and many, many others.

The former site of Worsley New Hall, in Salford, is a heritage landscape that's being transformed into an iconic RHS Garden. Landscape architect, Tom Stuart-Smith created the masterplan and our fantastic Bridgewater team, alongside award winning garden designers, are bringing 'gardens within a garden' to life by blending history with world-class horticulture.

The Welcome Building

The Welcome Building houses a striking arrivals hall, shop, café and two dedicated classrooms, as well as offering spectacular views over Moon Bridge Water – a beautiful, new 1.4-acre lake – and its lush native planting.

The Worsley Welcome Garden

From the Welcome Building, visitors can choose to stroll along Long Walk, heading into the Weston Walled Garden at various entry points, or lose themselves in the maze-like landscape of the Worsley Welcome Garden.

Did you know you can combine a visit to TraffordCity with a visit to this wonderful new garden? RHS Garden Bridgewater is just under 6 miles away from TraffordCity via the Bridgewater Way meaning you can take a stroll there in around 1 hour 30 minutes or get on your bike and be there in around 45 minutes.
