Our Business Training team at the Skills Shop offer bespoke training services for employers within the Retail sector. Our specialist team can support the development of your staff with retail training packages designed to suit you.
Established in April 2013 by Trafford College to bridge the gap for employers and unemployed people looking to work at Intu Trafford Centre. Our one stop shop provided training, information and guidance on courses, apprenticeships and updates on the development of TraffordCity.
Since opening in doors the Skills Shop has worked closely with the local communities and partnerships surrounding Trafford, Salford and Bolton to support and open up opportunities of employment. Since 2013 the Skills Shop has successfully moved over 500 unemployed people into employment from our course and supported 1000’s of passing customers with seasonal recruitment.
We have supported over 20 store openings at The Trafford Centre with sourcing, recruitment and training needs and also hosted a Intu’s Job spectacular event
Skills Shop Training Academy
As well as advertising current vacancies at the Trafford Centre we also offer flexible training packages at our retail training facility, based at The Trafford Centre, ranging from customer service skills, to visual merchandising, selling techniques and more. Designed with you in mind, our training packages are developed to boost the skills of your business.

Our Retail Academy course is perfect for adult learners who wish to develop their skills for a career in retail. Based at the renowned Trafford Centre, the Skills Shop offers a unique two-week retail training programme designed to boost your employability and customer service skills, whilst preparing you with the qualifications necessary for a glamorous career in retail.
