White is for the bride
It goes without saying that the only person in white at a wedding should be the bride, but it does bear repeating. Of course this doesn't mean you can't look your summery best and with delicious ice cream hues everywhere this season, there's masses of choice when it comes to finding the perfect 'wear-again' outfit.
Keep it elegant
We know, we know...there are so many cute mini dresses and shorts suits in the stores, but a wedding is not the place to flash the flesh. Keep it elegant with this season's midi dresses in gorgeous prints, pencil pleat skirts or opt for a statement asymmetric hem.
Ditch the dress
Trousers at a wedding may have been a no-no at one time, but now it's perfectly possible to rock a wedding-friendly jumpsuit. Stick to a fluid, wide leg and if it's a halter or strappy style, pop a co-ordinating blazer over the top (at least for the ceremony) for added chic.
Step away from the stillettos
Let's face it, it's going to be a long day and you're going to be standing for quite some time (possibly on grass) - not to mention boogying the night away. So step away from those sky high stilettos and opt for a foot-friendly block heel or wedge.
Go hands free
A cute new clutch is a must-have for weddings and there's no shortage of fabulous embellished numbers in store. Just make sure you go for one with a chain strap you can tuck away for the photos, and then sling over your shoulder when you need both hands for canapes and champagne.
