The Metrolink Trafford Park line is nearly here

One of the most exciting developments for TraffordCity is nearly here. Trams on the brand new £350m Trafford Park Line will start operating from April linking our vibrant destination to Manchester City Centre and beyond. Plus an amazing collection of visitor attractions along the way.

The new line will have six new tram stops, offering sustainable transport links to some of Greater Manchester’s busiest visitor destinations including Old Trafford Football stadium, Imperial War Museum North, EventCity and intu Trafford Centre.

It will also run through Trafford Park, one of Europe’s largest trading estate and home to more than 1,300 businesses employing over 35,000 people.The Trafford Park Line will add to what is already the biggest light rail network in the UK, bringing the total number of Metrolink stops to 99.

The route

The new line will run from the existing Pomona Metrolink stop, through Trafford Park, terminating at intu Trafford Centre. Click on the image below to download a PDF of the full route.

The 5.5 km route will feature six new tram stops:

Wharfside: Next to Manchester Ship Canal and close to Manchester United Football Club.

Imperial War Museum North: Positioned by the world-renowned museum with access to MediaCityUK via the existing footbridges.

Village: On Village Way, near Village Circle and Third Avenue, shops and cafes.

Parkway: At the existing Parkway Circle roundabout. The stop will soon include a Park & Ride facility with spaces passengers.

EventCity: By Barton Square and EventCity.

Trafford Centre: At intu Trafford Centre, Barton Dock Road.

The tourism trail

On its route, The Trafford Park line will give passengers easy access to some of Manchester's most exciting tourism attractions including:

Manchester United
The Lowry Theatre and Shopping Outlet
The Imperial War Museum
Lancashire County Cricket Club

and of course, all the attractions at TraffordCity!
