Can't decide which festive film to see? Here are four of our favourites...

The Grinch

Staying true to Dr. Seuss’ classic 1957 storybook, this animated 3D retelling sees the green meanie on the mountainside (aka The Grinch of the title) cooks up a plot to sabotage Christmas by disguising himself as Santa Claus. It’s got rhymes, cute animals, Benedict Cumberbatch trying to steal Christmas and Angela Lansbury. We feel all warm and fuzzy already.

Mary Poppins Returns

Jane and Michael Banks are now grown up and following the death of Michael’s wife, father and kids are struggling to cope. Can magical nanny Mary restore laughter to the Banks household? A magical story for a magical time of year – this colourful sequel starring Emily Blunt looks practically perfect in every way. Time to feel supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald

Set seventy years before the Harry Potter stories, this magical sequel to 2016’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them sees Eddie Redmayne’s Newt Scamander, teaming up with Jude Law’s Hogwarts professor, Albus Dumbledore. It’s the time of year when we all believe in magic, and what better way to celebrate than with the biggest magical franchise of them all?

Nativity Rocks!

Featuring a sleighful of household names, this fun and festive comedy sees the kids of St Bernadette’s unleashing their inner rock gods for the chance to feature in a spectacular musical competition. It’s a festive rock ’n’ roll extravaganza that will have the entire family swaying in the aisles.
